The VIP PET group of companies has launched its first Pet Boutique in Centro Plaza Nueva Andalucia. Two more are set to open before the end of the year.

Its owner Entrepreneur Alexandra Forth has lived and worked on the coast for many years.

Along with her previous partners Jim Moore and Brad Rosser she built a multi million pound empire in the UK and here in Spain with offices in America and Hong Kong. Jim is still heavily involved as a global property developer through his companies. Brad now develops other start up businesses and has just launched his own book on September 24th. Alex (as she likes to be known) has turned her attention to the world of pedigree pets.

That world is no stranger to Alex as she has been showing and breeding dogs for the last 20 years. Her Omegaville kennel name was registered with the UK Kennel Club in 1982 and since then she has bred or shown many international champions worldwide. Alex is also an international judge, and her experience is sought on many a subject within the field of pedigree pets.

Currently she has the TOP NO. 4 DOG ALL BREEDS in Spain 2008, Australia's Multi Best In Show winning Afghan Hound, and other Top Winners in Pomeranians, Chinese Cresteds and Papillons.

The Boutique has been created as the retail side of the group; its aim is to work with other breeders where they can showcase their puppies or kittens. All pets sold within the boutique are pedigree pets, microchipped and inoculated; they are health checked at the VIP PETS Resort before being offered at the Boutique.

The Boutique has the most beautiful range of Puppy Angels clothing and accessories, along with the traditional items usually associated with a pet outfit. However, even the Rabbit, Hamster, and Turtle cages are quite different from the normal.

It is the second in the group of companies as a few weeks ago the Andalucían coast's most luxurious Resort opened its doors, with underfloor heating, TV and webcam for its dog and cat clients. They even have a Spa, set to open the end of the month, with swim sessions in its specially heated pool for weight loss, rehabilitation or just plain fun.

If that's not all, your pet gets its own Membership Card with a 20% discount which they can use across the services: Resort, Grooming, Hydrotherapy and Spa, and a 10% discount at the Boutique.

Two further company launches within the group take place this year: VIP PETS at HOME and the VIP PETS ACADEMY where young people from around Europe can learn all aspects of the small animal industry.

VIP PETS' hand picked team of professionals are now headed up by Simon Boxus, who himself was very much involved in the early days of Alex's other businesses. Having developed his own successful companies he has rejoined Alex as her Business Development Director.

This weekend, following on from the show team's success at Gibraltar Championship Show, Alex's top winning Afghan from Australia, Flick went Best In Show at Leon. A great end to an otherwise testing week in which someone acting under the guise of an ex-client had sent deeply offensive and defamatory emails to Alex's friends and business colleagues. Needless to say, the 'ex-client' was entirely fabricated, as were all the allegations in the emails. It is reported in one of the emails that the writer is set to do a mail drop to households in the area. Alex's lawyers, Mischon de Reya in London and the Guardia Civil in Andalucía, are taking all appropriate steps to prevent further dissemination of the defamatory material and to take action against the persons responsible.

I asked her how she copes with all this; she said 'I have been in business and the world of dogs a long time. Anyone who achieves success knows there is an unfortunate downside to it. I stay focused. I have a wonderful team of people dedicated to raising the standards of animal care and welfare, and the show world has done what it is best at: offered its support from all around the world'.
